Summer Season’s Tea Club
As the weather gets warmer, many of us naturally reach for lighter and more refreshing teas. White and green teas are often among the first choices for summer, and in this Tea Club you’ll find a selection of teas that are especially enjoyable on hot days. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
White tea remains one of our favorite styles year-round. Its versatility, gentle character, and remarkable depth make it endlessly appealing, which is why we are always searching for exceptional examples to share.
Fuding is renowned for producing some of the finest white teas in China, especially from the high-elevation region of Tai Mu Mountain. This exquisite Tai Mu Mountain Silver Needle is made from the earliest buds of the season. Through careful sun-drying and gentle charcoal roasting, the farmer creates a tea that is remarkably clean and velvety, with captivating aromas, a lingering finish, and abundant sweetness. We love this tea so much that we purchase it every year for our own personal collection, and are delighted to include it in this Summer Tea club selection.
Yunnan Silver Needle has long been one of the most popular teas in our shop. Made from young buds harvested from old tea trees, it is both delicate and robust. This season’s lot is especially impressive, offering bright floral notes, gentle nuttiness, and natural sweetness. It remains one of our favorite everyday teas.
Yang Qian Xue Ya (Snow Bud) is harvested before Qingming from tender young buds and leaves. Covered with fine silvery hairs, the leaves brew into a bright, refreshing tea with delicate floral aromas, notes of spring greens and sweet peas, and a gentle nuttiness. What we appreciate most is its balance—it delivers the freshness and vibrancy that green tea lovers seek while remaining soft, smooth, and approachable.
This Yixing Black Tea is crafted from the same Xue Ya cultivar used for the region’s renowned green teas, but harvested later in the season and fully oxidized to create a delicate black tea. The result is refined and elegant, with notes of honeyed fruit, flowers, and subtle malt. Smooth and naturally sweet, it offers the warmth and richness of black tea without becoming heavy, making it a wonderful companion throughout the year.
Thank you for being part of our Tea Club. We hope these teas bring refreshment and enjoyment throughout the season.
